Requirements for sharing my work on social media:
The learning materials and sketchnotes I share on this website may be shared on social media as long as the following is observed:
- @functionaleartraining.com must be credited in the first 140 characters of the caption.
- My work may not be edited in any way (this includes cropping, filters, text overlay, etc).
- My work may not be used to promote a business or commercial account.
IMPORTANT: I retain all copyrights to my work. This means you must have permission in order to share it on any platform. If my work is published without permission, you may be subject to DMCA takedowns and post-licensing fees.
Publishing beyond social media
My work may NOT be published to any media platform (including your own website, a newsletter, etc) without written permission.
Publishing my work, in credited or uncredited form, or otherwise using my creative property in a way that violates copyright may result in a copyright claim, DMCA Takedown Notice, post-licensing fee assessments, and penalties imposed by your publishing platform.
One of the best ear training methods I’ve come across is functional ear training.
Instead of learning to recognize the sound of individual intervals, with functional ear training you focus on learning the specific sound of a note in the context of tonality.
Instead of identifying intervals, the goal of functional ear training is to figure out how the note or notes in question relate to the key center at hand.
Fot that you need not only the “notes in question” but a reference point – be it a drone, a backing track, a background chord.
